Third Annual ASQ Silicon Valley Quality Conference PDF Print E-mail

The Conference will be held at the Santa Clara Techmart on October 21, 2011. 

 

This year's theme is "On the Road to Performance Excellence." 

 

There are five topic tracks:

1.      Statistics and Reliability 

2.      Biomedical and Pharmaceutical 

3.      Supplier Management and Outsourcing

4.      Quality Management System Tools

5.      Emerging Industries and Technologies 

 

 

The conference is an excellent opportunity for people to gain a broader understanding of the richness of our field, especially hearing from and getting to know local professionals.  Silicon Valley is known for high tech, and all aspects of quality assurance are included.  A great opportunity for learning and synergy from some terrific speakers.  A good networking opportunity, too.  Finally, for those of you with ASQ certifications, this is a quick and cost-effective way to earn quite a few recertification RUs.

In the role of Quality Manager you will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible for setting up the quality department at this manufacturing facility. Your team will provide support for new product introduction (NPI), collect and analyze data, perform root cause analysis of failures while working closely with engineering and operations to improve the quality process and systems for increased reliability and sustainability.  You will meet with potential customers, manage all quality operations and establish the appropriate metrics and KPI’s to ensure delivery of high quality products and services.  

The qualified candidate for the position of Quality Manager must have:

*Five (5) years experience in a Quality Management role in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.

*Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).

*Broad experience in PCBA, System Integration, and Box Build services.

*Hands-on experience in developing EMS quality policies, processes, and procedures.

*Strong leadership and management skills with good working knowledge of critical

  metrics and ability to establish key performance indicators (KPI’s).
